Good point, but then I lose my left tweeter LOL...

Worst case I plug it back in, hide it inside the fairing, but that's just a bandaide. You can't tell me that no one has ever encountered this though.

I've never heard of anyone removing the fuel gauge.

I've seen them moved around, and the air temp and volt gauge taken out for speakers...

But I couldn't figure that out either. Maybe my ears aren't as "in tune" to the finer speakers. I've ridden one with extra tweeters, and the wind and engine noise still blocked most of the finer stuff out...

Pull the Volt gauge and replace it with the fuel gauge.
The volt gauge is almost useless, at least mine is.
You will really like that fuel gauge when you're on a long trip.

You need to figure out what the resistance is that the guage supplies to that electrical circuit. Place a resistor in place of the guage and the light should go out. Right now the circuit is open because the guage is not in place. You need to complete that circuit. It may be as simple as placing a jumper across the connector. I would suspect that the fuel sending unit supplies the resistance and the guage just is a measurement of that resistance.

And that is what I get for not doing my homework! Gonna put the fuel gauge in place of the voltage.... I won't have any lights turning on cause that is missing?

The fuel gauge always works better using a stick.

The battery light may come on...I would measure the resistance with a full tank and then put that resistor inline.
