Damn, let me preface this statement with the fact that I'm a bike *****... But I like it. I love how quirky and ugly it is... Futuristic, sure. But unlike Victorys, it's not an ugly take on HD Classic lines.
I think this is deeper than taking advantage of the bagger craze. Like the F6b , or whatever they are calling that stripped down Goldwing, Guzzi is trying to cash in on the Streetglide craze. But this type of bike is this generation's new entry bike. And just like the Streetglide, folks will try and turn it into a their version of an Ultra... And sure as ****, Guzzi will offer a full ultra version in a year or two that everyone will then try and turn into the stripped down version. Sound familiar? I hear it's a solid business model. But yeah, way to go Guzzi. At least it's sort of original
I think the heat shield would be the first thing I would remove. I do like the totally adjustable foot pegs... That parallelogram thingy looks quite adjustable... I owned a California 1400 for 1 year (and 15,000 miles) before I bought my first Harley last June. The 1400's are fantastic bikes, just no dealer network to speak of. If you don't mind being an orphan, they are great. While I tour, I like the HD dealer support...
