[QUOTE=ghostrunner;13415914]That's too much weight on back of trailer. I pull second trailer and have in all 48 states without problem. /QUOTE] If you pulled a second trailer in Washington State without getting a ticket you were damn lucky. I tried towing my Harley Servicar behind a trailer one (when it broke down) and didn't make it 5 miles before the cops had me.

Except as provided in RCW 46.44.037, it is unlawful for any person to operate upon the public highways of this state any combination of vehicles consisting of more than two vehicles.

Thanks for the replies. To be clear, I don't haven't purchased the hydra lift. It does seem like a lot of weight to me, which is why I'm asking for personal experiences. Like I mentioned, I actually saw this setup going down the road, so I know it is possible, just looking for some first hand accounts if how it tows. Toy hauler isn't an option for me, need the living space as this would be a full time residence. I have no comment on those that trailer behind their 5th wheel, but that isn't something I'm looking at doing. The dual wheel rear platform setup looks to me like it might work going down a flat and level road, but I wonder what would happen making a sharp corner or an embankment or curb such as when pulling into an inclined driveway.

Have you looked at the frame (rear end) of your 5th wheel? I would bet you, it's pretty light weight.

I wouldn't count on that. Last three fifth wheels I had were plenty strong. All had I beam 3" wide 8 to 10" tall and 3/16" to 1/4" thick. I have put square tube receiver hitches under two of them. The other is Toy Hauler and even though it is the strongest don't need trailer hitch on it. Did look under friends to see if would hold hitch and it was a thin wall square tubing which would need some special mounting to be safe. I would be little concerned with the Hydralift on back of fifthwheel. It could easily remove half the tongue load on the front. That 40 footer probably has 2500#'s plus tongue load and wouldn't suffer too bad.

The frame I'm not concerned about. Like ke5rbd mentioned, it's built out of 10" beams. It has about 2000# of tongue weight.

I am a little concerned about the cantilever/fulcrum effect. Going to look into those swivel wheel designs some more.

Anyone have first hand experience?
