Default GPS versus Odometer

I tested my GPS against the bike's tripmeter today and found the bike tallying miles at a faster clip than the GPS. I reset both the bike and the GPS at the gas station, then rode home. The GPS read 27.7 miles and the tripmeter said 28.5 miles. I also noticed that the bike's speedo reads about 4 mph faster than the GPS.

Next month I'm going to do the IronButt Association's SaddleSore 1000, and I wanted to see how far off the bike's odometer is.

depending on the speed, my speedo is off up to 4mph. The only thing about the GPS odomoter tho, is it depends how long it takes to acquire a signal. Every now and then i'll cruise after a cold start down about half a mile before my GPS has got a good enough fix to triangulate my position. All the while the odometer isn't moving.

I don't have gps but I have noticed that my speedometer and odometer seem to be off since I had the 903 download.

That's a factory setup, so you'll trade it in sooner....

Checking mine with mile markers on the hwy I've found the HD digital odometer to overstate mileage by about 5%. This has been true on my lasttwo Electoglides, but my ol 92 with a mechanical odometer was dead on. Progress?

I think it was Toyata just had a big settlement for that exact problem, if its true then we should all be getting a class action lawsuit to Harley for the same thing as that means your warranty runs out faster.
