I put an S&S Calibrator on mine and now the Speedometer, odometer and GPS are almost dead nuts. My guess would be MOCO sets them up incorrectly to gain Service Dollars and get through the warranty faster!

Sounds to me like a way to get the bike out of warranty sooner!

Ride Safe,

Mike

I checked my '07 Ultra with my GPS and found that when the speedometer read 60 mph the GPS indicated 57 mph. That's not nearly as bad the metric cruisers I've checked. I've checked half a dozen metric bikes including my Suzuki Volusia, a couple of VStar 1100's, a couple of Honda Shadow's, and a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 and they were all off 7 to 8 mph at 60.

What do you want to bet that next year the owners manual reads "Odometer reading" instead of "mileage".

At 60mph on the GPS by speedometer is showing 57mph. Not too worried about the warranty, its 2 years/unlimited mileage. HD can't speed up the calander.

I just mountedthe GPS on my EG and mine is off by 3 mph... When my speedometer says 70 the GPS shows 67. I'd wager that the GPS is very accurate.

From posts here it appears very consistent that everyone's bikereads 3 to 4 mph higher than true speed.

I found that the speedometer and odometer were about 5% over the gps and I believe the gps.

Yep ! 85 mph on the speedo = about 79 on the GPS, or thereabout.

Does that mean I can ride faster and not get a ticket? Do you think I could print off this forum and use the information in court?[sm=grinangel.gif] lol

Probably not Papa T, but it does mean that you can push the needle up a bit and know that when your speedo is reading 80, you're likely going only about 75 or so.
