Default Comp replacement -- T-70 driver

I'm about to do the comp replacement on my 09 SG. HD instructions recommend a $47 Snap-On T-70 driver ("STX70E"). What are you folks using? Given the torque setting I can see we need a quality too, but $47?

buy a good one from snap-on. you can use it when you put 2 or three more compensators on. even the new ones don't last long.

I found one at autozone for 10 bucks, decent made tool. should last. I'm a pro mechanic, and even I balked at the snap on one

+1 Auto-Zone, Duralast. Got one for about 8 bucks. Lifetime guaranty. Hard to beat.

Many auto supply stores lend tools for free, even if you don't buy from them. Maybe you could approach it from that angle, especially if it's something you won't use too often. But for $8 or $10 I'd just buy it. You're saving $$$ by doing it yourself so why not invest a bit of the savings in a tool or two?

Mine cost under $10 at parts store . Worked well and even went a little over spec just in case.

I bought both a Lisle and a Sun Tools one. The Sun tool looked stouter, but both worked fine.

I tried to buy the Snap-on, but I could not find it in stock. So I posted this thread. Before seeing your responses I bought the OTC version off Amazon: it looked stout and has a 1/2" drive. Thank you for your responses.

I’m the more computer savy between my husband and I so when I was looking up the socket and tools need to remove the Clutch basket on my husband 06 Soft tail deluxe I came across this forum and also got the socket from autozone as suggested ...however 🤔🙄🧐 it dosent fit in the barrel entirely because of the outer casing so to say ? Am I missing something here ? If anyone could please help it would be greatly appreciated
