Ive been looking to add some small driving lights to the crash bar on my SG and the prices seem to vary from 30 to 300+. Does anyone have any input on what they are running? Im thinking of going with some offroad style lights since they are black and less expensive than say the kury's
There are some very attractive small lights out there, but some of them are darned expensive! I 'made do' with H-D oval fogs, which mount on the crashbar.
Yeah thats where im struggling lol ive seen some very nice looking lights (not sure how they perform) but i cant see dropping 280.00 for a couple of led drive lights. Plus you cant really find real world numbers on how bright they are lumens, watts, etc cause everyone measures different than then next guy
I have the Custom Dynamics Dynamic Ringz on my '14 FLHX. They are plug n play into the turn signals and have a ring of white LEDs that burn all the time as running lights & then turn amber when turn signal is on. They are pretty bright but probably not as bright as dedicated running lights like on the ultras.
Harley P/N 68913-98C. $141 at Kutter. I put these on my 2001 FXDXT and then transferred them to my 2010 FLHXSE. After 13 years they still look like new. I drilled holes in the bottom of my engine guard so I could run the wires internally. They also give off good light and make the bike much more visible in the daytime.
I have used the 4 1/2 spots and a footpeg mount to install additional lighting on the highway bars for long trips when riding in the dark is going to happen.
I understand the cost is rather more than some. I like 3.5 inch running lights. Show chrome makes them. They come with a hood built in.
To me the 4.5 inch looks out of place, too big.
This is on my VTX
For me I think the Street Glide looks better without them. My head light works good for night riding.

I'm running the HD fog lights and internally wired them on the crash bar. I also replaced the OEM bulbs w/ Sylvania Silverstar, and they made a huge difference in brightness.
You can usually score a set of used lights here in the Classifieds for about $100.
IMO, they look good and add a ton of light for a reasonable cost.
I too run the Custom Dynamics Dynamic Ringz with the HD Day-Maker reflector headlight. Its my rear I am more concerned about. Wish Bright *** lights made a good set up for 2014 FLHXS's like the do the fine light they make for the single tail light. That twin OEM brake lights are a joke for daytime riding on the SG
