I've been considering installing a aftermarket throttle body beforeI get my road glide dyno inMay but I've been told that it wouldnt help performance but I've noticed alot of members have them, 2nd question is if I replace the throttle body do I replace injectors and intake and what type of TB you recomend
I have
95"
10.5 to 1 flat tops
t-mann heads
tg 600 gear cams T-mann performance
adjust push rods
I have seen 120/120 made with a stock t-body. The only reason I have mine is that I bought it for cost. It came with CVO injectors already installed. I have heard that an oversize t-body will hurt torque, and others say that you gain so much HP that it won't matter. My opinion, if you can buy one cheap, do it. If you could use the cash somewhere else, do that.
I have a Geralomy 50mmdual indenpent runner (2x50mm). Stock 05 injectors are good to about 130HP with it. You'd be better off with a DTT than a TMax, with a Geralomy TB though. DTT & Geralomy work well together ~ in fact they include a base MAP for the Geralomy w/ the DTT. TMax does not officially support the dual indepentent runner TB's.
I called and talked to Zippers about it. THey said it "should work", but it would be up to me to work out any quirks or issues. So... .that made for an esay decision for me..... DTT.
I am using the Kuryakyn 57mm throttle body, I don't think I would be getting the numbers that I am getting without it. I am using stock injectors. It is a strait bolt on.
Phil You went way over my head with the dual indy runners and I assume that geralomy is amanufacture of TB's? So I guess you think I would beafit from some sort of change in the fuel area, the reason I was leaning toward the Thunder maxis because thats what the tuner in my area suggested. I have also been looking at TB's from Zippers. Shawn when I talk to TR from T-mann he suggested a company from Horsepower INC but there TB's are alot more than some and I dont know what the difference is. Thank's to you both
Jeepster I dont know if I'm expecting to much or what but I'm still not getting the throttle responce I hoped for but I've got my dyno appointment for May 1st so I"ll find out if my seat of pantsdyno is off or if I need to shake the money tree again
i run a 55mm HP Inc TB...with CVO injectors...it is the manifold...all sensors bolt on...however when using it with R&R heads the cruise cable bracket will not fit without massagin the fins on the head some...it was expensive i thought and does make good power
Thanks Bryan I never thought about a cruise control issues I'll have to keep that in mind i could'nt go without my cruise, I was told that a different TB wouldnt make much difference in performance but yall must think it helps? I have often wondered if somthing was wrong with my injectors because my bike is sooo sluggish off the bottom, that may be because of the of pipes that I'm running now VH True duals
