When we use to do a lot of shows we kept running in to this guy. He had a trike and his dog would ride in this carrier from Canada. He waited month's for the carrier and it was very expensive.. He had us put chrome spots on it so it would match his bike.. It was like a big hat box made from leather ...
I'm with Mike... Carpet or firm dog bed on the bottom. I'd also consider lowering the sides a bit and providing more floor space to lay down and spread out on longer trips. Pets lives are short. Gotta pack in a whole lot of fun in that time.
Maybe drain holes in the bottom in case... it rains.
Leather jacket, leather helmet and Doggles to round out it all out. There's no limit to the fun you can have with this.
Was he wagging his tail cuz you let him out? Okay.. so he cant comfortably lay down. A lower center of gravity would help you both. Would you ride back there? I think you can do better, much better. Perhaps a padded box that spans passenger seat/ luggage rack.
I am a dog lover too so I say this on behalf of 60lb Rex.
