Default Windshield Help

I am thinking about replacing the stock shield on my 09 Ultra Classic, due to wind buffeting and noise. It seems that the stock windshield and I are just the wrong heights for each other. Anyone have any experience with any of these: Klock Werks 11.5" Flare Windshield, National Cycle VStream Windshield, National Cycle Wave Windshield, or the Kuryakyn AirMaster Aerodynamic Windshield?

Nope. Too pricey. You will get just a good a shield from LRS much cheaper.

Bought my 19" shield on e-bay. Very happy with it. Diff. brands at good prices to choose from.

looks like you are thinking about going higher.

the bigger the hole you try to push through the air, the more pressure differential in the cockpit.

uncontrolled air will rush in from the sides and below.

I use the fairing wind deflectors to pull "controlled" air into the cockpit.

I also cut my windscreens down ( the bottom edge is easily cut with a dremel, rotozip, jigsaw- and the cut is hidden).

you might want to give a try...for me the correct height is so that the top edge "appears" to intersect the road about 40' ahead.

I don;t like recurves as in crap weather I want to be able to tuck into the fairing and look through the windscreen

not all are created equal- the HD Lexan is tough and optically very good.

i have seen cheapos deform from cleaning or crack/ shatter from a rock, discolor from UV

Check our Long Ride (LRS) they have shields for both single and two up -- I have both styles one bike has the two and the other the one up. My wife noticed a difference right away with the 2 up version . As a rider I don't. I have to measure to see which length I have -- but they are shorter than stock

At 6'3" and stock seat on my FLHTCU, I'm using the HD 10" windsplitter shield. Very happy with this setup and no buffeting. Bought it used on eBay so price was good.

I have the 10" LRS with the recurve at top, and there is no distortion when tucked, very good vision clarity, and there was a%50 code somewhere on this site, mine is lite tint, and about nose level, works good, good luck

Really looking at LRS now, now just to pick which one I want to try. I am 6'3" and I ride 2up most of the time.

I have a 2009 ultra classic and just switched out my stock 13 inch for a LRS recurved 13 inch ultra elite polycarbonate light tint. Looks great, fantastic price, and is truly amazing the difference between the two shields. Easy install too. You need to look at LRS.
