Default Passenger-Footboard for 2012 FLHP

I want to add a passenger-footboard to my 2012 FLHP (and, of course, a passenger seat, the Mustang recessed passenger seat, as offered for the FLHP with original police-seat).
I wonder if I can use the "old" footboards/supports (no.52719-93B), which were used with the civilian models until 2009, or if I must buy the new supports (52719-10) which were mounted at the civilian models from 2010 up to now. Some people say that the old supports only fit up to 2009 and in 2010 the mounting-base at the frame was changed so that only the new support fit - some say the opposite.
What is right, what is wrong?

If you have the newer bike get the newer support. I have a 2004 Cop King with the old supports. Jus sayin

In 2009 the MoCo changed the frame design including the rider footboard bracket. Then in 2010 they changed out the passenger footboard bracket. The change went from an inverted teardrop shaped mounting flange on the bracket that used a single 3/8-16 SHCS and a 5/16" extruded tit that located into an unused 3/8-16 tapped hole on the frame for anti-rotation purposes. In 2010 the passenger bracket mounting flange was changed to an elongated flange that had a single hole which took the 3/8-16 mounting bolt and an elongated slot that accepted a 5/16-18 SHCS so that the newer design was held on by 2 bolts as opposed to a single bolt on earlier models. You need to go with the newer bracket.

Yes, I knew that beginning in 2010 the support was changed: In the parts list I can see that until 2009 (including) the support of the passenger´s footboard is no.52719-93B (one bolt at the bottom, a scre top). At first a different no. is in 2010 when the support has the no. 52719-10 and it has two screws, not bolt.
But it could be possible that the old supports also fit in 2010 and up. That´s why I am asking.

You need to go with the newer bracket.
So they did not only change the support, they also changed the mounting-base in the frame? I was told that at 52719-93B the distance between the bolt and the screw is 20mm. I am also measuring 20mm distance between the mounting-"holes" in the frame of my FLHP 2012 ... the bottom hole is a simple hole, the holes above (covered/filled with some plastic) have a thread, but the distance between is ca. 20mm each. So the old support should/could fit? Strange ...
