I'm looking at Avon soft gel, and I like the look of the HD vintage white ones, I've also considered heated ones but the reviews I've seen seem mixed and being in Atlanta I shouldn't really need them.I'm primarily looking for comfort and accurate feel for throttle control, but looks are fairly important also. I had Kuryakkun ISO grips on my Yamaha before this bike but they felt cheap and inaccurate.
I like the vintage ones from Harley, they seem to have some air space in them which helps with the vibration. I would think that the white ones might be more work to keep clean, and for sure they will get dirty, similar to white wall tires.

I'm still planning to get another set from these folks:
http://www.coolsac.com/categories/Grips/

I replace a set of ISO Grips with these and had them for several years on my old bike and they are just awesome. Fatter and cushier and they have beautiful designs. Workmanship is top notch and price is good, too. And if you don't have cruise, they make the best throttle lock system I've ever seen.

I like the white vintage HD grips, but wanted to wait when they first came out to see if they would get dirty after a while. Sure enough, all the displays at the dealership have the white grips turning grey & black, & that's just from trying them in the store. So, I went with the "Get-a-Grips". Loks great, & pretty dang comfy. I would get the large diameter.

My favorite grips were the ones that came on Hondas in the 70s. Very similar to the Nostalgic HD grips, but cushier, & didn't make your hands sticky after a while.

I tend to ride bare handed, and leather grips lets my skin stick lightly so I don't have to squeeze to hold onto the grip. This is particularly true for the throttle. I don't have to squeeze to twist the throttle.

I also happen to like the larger diameter grips. Like many, I've a bit of trouble with carpal tunnel as well. The larger grip is more comfortable to me than the skinnier grips.

Put on a pair of ISO grips at the start of last season and I have to say they are a big improvement over stock. YMMV

I love my Get-a-grips from Harley. To me, they look great, and feel great.
