Default Killing a warrantee...

I was just reading a post about upgrading a 96' to a 103' and someone expressed warranty concerns...

This I can't understand... In the Supplement Parts Catalog.. this upgrade is listed.. How can a dealer tell
a customer this?

I am concerned because I am considering this upgrade...

In the catalog, there are two kits, one with and one without cams, and there is a big difference in price..
almost double for the cams...

Is this the reason for concern? Aftermarket cams? or doing the work yourself...

It does say "dealer installation required" but it only refers to fuel upgrade... ( Dyno..)

Warranty is an important issue.. but the way it reads, seems it's a forced bring it to us or else thing...

Which falls into "Usury and or Racketeering" Fraud...

What do you think??

I considered this same exact upgrade w/ cams. The problem expressed to me is that the kit HAS to be installed within 60 days of purchase and installed by the SAME dealer that sold the bike. I bought mine 45 days ago but will not go back to the dealer I bought it from again due to poor service. Guess I will be waiting until the warranty expires first.

The warranty will be over before you know it. Mine is gone and I'm happy. I can do anything to my RG I want.

some dealers are glad to cover it as long as they do the work ,others are squimish.

Its not so much what you do but who does it. Once you tear down a motor from any maker unless the work is done by them you can pretty much forget your warranty.
