I had a horrible noise coming from mine; got rid of the girlfriend and the noise stopped.
Seriously though, I'm deaf and I worry about what's going on down there ALL the time. I have a trusted buddy of mine take my bike out every now and then for just that reason. HE's saved my *** and $ more than once. My truck too; brake pads, gearing, knockings, hissing tires, all that stuff. I'd never choose to just magically get my hearing back, silence IS golden, ya know.. But DAMN, there's a lot I'm missing sometimes.. Hope you get it figured out.
One of the lifers had a spot that the pushrod wasn't touching, strange but apparently that was the problem. After they replaced them the noise is gone.
The roller on the lifter had a shiny spot about 1/4 of the way around.
I was just reading a thread about cams and if lifters should be replaced when swapping cams. One post said you never read about bad lifters and another said bad lifters were a pre 2007 occurrence. Hmm, both were wrong.
