Default Tips for lining up switch housing on brake side

Can't seem to get the switch housing lined up on brake side. I keep seeing a small gap between the upper and lower switch housing when I try to tightened screws. It can't be this hard and there must be a trick.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

No trick. Pull it apart and make sure everything is where it should be. Then try again.

Be sure to put a spacer in the brake lever to keep from breaking the switch.
Failure to do so can keep the housings from mounting properly.

Don't get me started...

clearly the whole front brake, switch housing, dimpled handlebar thing must is the most sadistic piece of gay engineering I have ever run into. Heaven forbid, you might want to rotate your handle bars in their clamps (doable). But then once you do that, rotate the levers (brake and clutch) and the switch housings so that things are right for the new handlebar positions. OOPS, the dimples in the handbars for your wiring only allow a small bit of rotation of the switch housing before the master cylinder clamp doesn't sit square (and pinches the wiring no less). OOPS, your master cylinder clamp isn't sitting square, and that cute (but ridiculous) method of operating the front brake switch by paddling it from the lever no longer works. Why doesn't MOCO put the brake light switch in the master cylinder like every other manufacturer on earth. OOH, that would require an unsighty wire to run from the master cylinder to the switch housing or harness. Sometimes HD is so gay. Must everything be done for "looks". How about function over form for once, especialy when comfort (lever positioning) is at stake.

Sounds to me like you got yourself started. If it's that big of a problem for you, then maybe you should consider one of the other manufacturers on Earth. Myself, I haven't run into this particular issue, as my bar/grips/levers orientation seems pretty good.Changed bars, added chrome housings, etc. Takes time, but it's worth it (IMO)Well, I guess everyone has a different experience.

I didn't realise the switch housing had a sexual preference. Mine are hetero all the way! No gay stuff on my Harley!

Settle down Francis...
