I'm going for sure. I have been to this particular rally 4 or 5 times before and it is always a great time. You will not be disappointed.

We did the sisters ride at christmas when the weather was nice. From the dallas area I would much rather go north and stay in Broken Bow and ride the Talihena trail across the top of the mountain. There is also a route on both sides of the mountain.

Lots of nice rides in the area. Can't say anything about the rally.

They always have good entertainment (usually bands from the Austin area), some vendors selling a variety of things, bbq, breakfast (make your own omelets) and the fun atmosphere. The area in the Fredricksburg, Luckenbach area are great and just about everyone you run into anywhere is biker friendly. Just a fun time IMO.

The rally is small but ok (like most) but the riding is the best. Everywhere you go in the hill country is wonderful. Be safe and enjoy.

When I went there was lots of dust in the campground area and around vendors. No concrete anywhere

There is a campground within walking distance to Lukenbach farm.
http://www.armadillofarmcampground.com/

Lukenbach is a farm, not a town. It has become a tourist destination. During ralleys, it's like any other ralley with organized rides, music, booze and vendors.

there is music most nice days, even if just a single guitar player/singer. Willie won't be around as he and the farm had a falling out.

Fredericksburg has a lots of nicnak shops, some very good restaurants, and some reasonable lodging (Super8 is a favorite).

Night life in Austin is about an hour away, same for San Antonio. Kerrville is half an hour, Three sisters if a full day loop from F'Berg.

I've lived here since 2011, and Lukenback is a regular stop when I just out burning gas.

Wide view image is Lukenback on a typical 75 degree January day.
