I asked Mustang Seats at one point what was best to use to condition my seat and they said anything you would use for leather would work just fine. When conditioning leather with anything like this it is a good idea to let it bake in the sun afterwards for as long as possible until it all get soaked up. (ie... chaps, jacket, etc) Same would go for the seat too I would think. Best to have good dry heat temperatures though I would say above 70° and at least a 12hr bake. Although I have not yet built up the nerve to do this myself. Please update for the rest of us how it turned out, if you go through with it.

Sounds like it may be safer to do the wife. I sure would not want a greasy spot on the back of my nylon pants.

Quite a few. So many, in fact, it lead to them being placed on the endangered species list, thus ending the senseless slaughter of millions of Nauga per year.

*groan*

The 2nd most abundant thing on a Harley forum, aside from Harleys, are bad dad jokes.

This thread needs a Not Funny At All warning.

It's OK only if the mink donates the oil of its own free will. If you end-up using the mink oil, remember that it will make the leather susceptable to fart stains, *** sweat, slobber, and other body fluids that cannot be mentioned. Mink oil is flamable, so you also have that to deal with.

Of course mink oil, spilled on the wrong finger, may create doubt in the old lady's thinking about where you have actually been versus where you say you have been.

Mink oil will demagnetize the magnetic strip on your credit cards and will block certain incoming calls from your cell phone.

Mink oil can be absorbed through casual contact, and if absorbed, can create involuntary random thoughts and actions, many of which can lead to a criminal record. YMMV.

Not sure I would use it, but hey, if you have nothing to do...then go for it.

Also, Mink oil is obtained from the lubrication glands of the female Mink. So if you get back to your bike and there's a male animal humping it don't be surprised. It may also attract unwanted animal attention to your ***.

Per Wikipedia:
Mink oil is made from mink fat and originates from China, though there are mink farms around the world. The fat that is made into this oil is stored just beneath the skin. Removed from pelts destined for the fur industry, the fat is rendered into mink oil.
Mink oil is a source of palmitoleic acid, which possesses physical properties similar to human sebum. Because of this, mink oil is used in several medical and cosmetic products. Mink oil is also used for treating/conditioning and preserving nearly all kinds of leather.

Neatsfoot oil is a yellow oil rendered and purified from the shin bones and feet (but not the hooves..guess that's important?) of cattle. "Neat" in the oil's name comes from an old English word for cattle. Neatsfoot oil is used as a conditioning, softening and preservative agent for leather. In the 18th century, it was also used medicinally as a topical application for dry scaly skin conditions.

So to keep your leather and your dry scaly butt soft, just use neatsfoot oil.
