Default Question on Fullsac baffles

I'm considering using the fullsac cvo baffles, the question I have concerns the perforated muffler sleeves that give a little air space. What is holding the sleeves in place and wouldn't they rattle? I like the theory about the air space and have read good things about the baffles themselves. Anyone using these?

oops, read the op too fast...

the cvo baffles are great. they will make your cvo mufflers sound and perform awesome. i have the 2.0 cores and they have a nice deep tone to them, have a decent 'bark' when you hit it, but at cruising are very polite and don't interfere with your tunes at all.

I am using the 2.25" Fullsac cores and the screens your speaking of. I was also worried about the muffler packing blowing out and the screens left to rattle around inside the cans. I asked the folks at Fullsac about this when I ordered them & they assured me that I would not have this issue. I was able to reuse the packing material that was in my mufflers. They had less than 2k miles on them. I had the bike dyno tuned by Woods Performance Tuning in Cartersvile Ga. & Bill said that he was very happy with how the exhaust system reacted to the TTS tune. I decided I would do the same with my wife's new Road King. I bought a set of CVO cans off Ebay, 2.25 Fullsac power cores & the screens. I believe the mufflers I bought came off a 2010 bike & could tell they had quite a few more miles on them than my mufflers did so I purchased some new muffler packing for the mufflers. When I ground the welds off the mufflers to remove the stock baffles I was surprised to see that these older CVO cans had screens installed in them from the factory very similar to the Fullsac screens! The packing was still inside the cans & was being held in place by the screens. I was happy to see this & no longer worry too much about the screens rattling inside the mufflers. It seems to hold the packing in pretty good over time. I believe the performance gain is well worth what they cost. Hope this helps ya.
Ride Safe,
Dwayne

Thanks DHubbs, I haven't pulled the old baffles out yet. I like the looks of these mufflers and figured it was better for me to replace baffles then buy new mufflers. I figure the sleeve helps to retain the packing material compared to just wrapping the baffle like I've done on other bikes.

Yep, I like the looks of them too. The chrome on them is better than most aftermarket mufflers. Retains the stock appearance and sounds great IMO. The screens have to be overlapped a little inside itself with the packing wrapped around it to get them to slide in the cans. It expands back out as you slide it into the can holding the packing against the sides of the mufflers. Do yourself a favor and take time to scrape all the old packing material off the inside wall of the muffler before you attempt to install the new packing and screens. It will make sliding the new packing in alot easier.

I installed my Fullsac core without the screens or packing. The bike sounds great and the performance is fantastic using Steve's TTS tuner.
