Default my issue...

I have a 06 rk custom and want a street glide style fairing. My problem is my bike is pearl white. I need an economical solution that I can get painted close to the bike. Everything I read is that pearl is very difficult to match.

To do it right you're going to want to use H-D's paint. Matching the paint would probably be near impossible. It would be one thing if it was maybe just a side cover, but the fairing will stick out like a sore thumb if it doesn't match. Harley and economical don't belong in the same sentence LOL

Use a fairing bra, then you can get whatever one is a smoking deal and be in the wind happy. Function over form.

I had an 04 RK Custom. I used a Memphis Shades removable fairing. They're very plain on the inside. But in terms of wind protection, those fairings are very functional.

The cost for a local painter to match my Lava Red Sunglo factory paint was $350. This was a few years ago (4).

The fairing/brackets were about $500/shipped (eBay). I got them from DennisKirk.com

Why not call around and find out for yourself instead of "i heard"? I had a tour pak custom matched to orange pearl and it came out perfect for $250.

if you didn;t know the batwing fairing is same no matter which model.

SG, Ultra, Limited, EG Classic, EG Standard etc etc etc.

i see from the title of your other post that cash is a prime mover- prowl the classifieds- you can find some kind of a fairing shell if that's what you really need...
but the riding experience is much different with a fairing, you may not like it as much

Pearl is damn near impossible to match because of all the factors in play. Fortunately there is a fair amount of separation in play on a motorcycle so one doesn't have to get all that close. I would agree that there is no shortcut...use HD paint and clear and do no scrimp!

My buddy ran a detachable fairing on his silver and black 100th RK Classic. He used the fairing bra. I think it matched very well with his leather bags like you have. And it looked great.

Here is one from Saddleman that is only $96. http://www.saddlemen.com/made-by-har...ge=19&limit=20
