Default Throat Mike?

With the new infotainment system you are no longer able to use a hand-held mike with the CB Unit. I was wondering if you could use a throat mike and have the sound come out the speakers similar to using a hand-held mike?

If there are other options that don't require the use of a headset I'd like to hear about them as well.

Thanks!

I've ridden with two different guys that were trying throat mics (not HD) and could not understand a thing they said.

Your experiences may be different.

Throat mics are essentially useless. A number of years ago we installed them for a fire dept so their members could communicate under their masks, total disaster. They work by picking up the vibrations from your larynx, unfortunately most of the sounds you make are shaped by the mouth and tongue after passing over the larynx. Save your money.

If you search "throat mic" you will find several threads about them (too many to list here).
