I'm just about in the same boat. My '07 ultra has 62K and i'm thinking about getting rid of her; only I will replace her with a new one and keep on riding. Will likely have closer to 65K when I do pull the trigger. Nothing wrong with her and I wouldnt hesitate to take her cross-country. If finances allow, I will keep her and just add another to the stable. I'm a sentimental person and I have a lot of road stories and experiences with this bike that are hard to let go of.
Sorry to hear your giving up riding.I had thought about it when I reached 65,but decided to sell my heavy Ultra and go back to a smaller bike and tried a Sportster which was too small and then a Dyna and finally a Road King which fills the bill.I'm 70 now and hope to ride for a few more years before I lay down.

I know what you mean. Driven to 32 states so far and twice to California. Been places and see things the wife and I would have never seen if we did not have the bike. It's a tough decision, but I'm getting old and ready to retire and the cost of insurance, tags (here they are 97 a year), and maint. makes it hard to justify keeping it.
That may help, but you may not get what you feel it is worth.
No one wants to pay top money any more no matter how well
the Bike was cared for.
That is true. I have a mustang for sale right now and people offering ridiculous low offers and have not even came to look at it. Everyone expects it all for nothing. lol
Be real careful using Craigslist ... a lot of scams, thieves and thugs prowl the adds looking for easy pickings. NEVER INVITE ANYONE TO YOUR HOME TO SEE IT. Always pick a public place to meet ... a local police station is always a good bet. Good Luck with the sale and sorry to see you're putting yourself " out to pasture" :>(
