Default Bleeding brakes

Got a 2008 RKC with dual front brakes, w/abs.
Im doing ape hangers & have to replace the lines and i felt confident until someone told me that, it is extremely difficult when you start messing with the abs. Is it as simple as just bleeding and replacing, or is there something i should know? Believe it or not, havent seen much on youtube about this & i know someone here will be able to help.

Thanks

I was told I needed a computer to bleed the brakes on my 09 with abs. I never researched it any further. I believe it's called a digital tech. I have read a lot of people bleed their brakes with abs system just as they do their cars and have not had any issues. I have not done it yet. But will soon. I flushed my brakes on my honda st1300 and it also has abs

Just don't cycle the ignition switch until you have completed the the line change and have the system bled.

If you the cycle the ignition switch while there is air in the system the abs does a self test and will allow air in the abs unit.

I bled the brakes manually when I did the bar change of my '15 Road King. All went smoothly and the ABS light worked as supposed to but here is the issue. Are you willing to bet your life they are working as designed when you actually NEED the ABS function in an emergency?? I wasn't ready to take that gamble and simply rode my bike to the Harley shop and had them use the Digital Tech to perform the needed check. Only took a few minutes but it was well worth the effort.

Good video for reverse bleed. I started a thread on this same thing (link below). All you need to do is replace the upper cable. As long as you dont let the ABS module run (which is why you pull the fuse) there wont be any need for harleys digital tech.

1. Pull the ABS fuse
2. Drain the master cylinder and remove the upper cable
3. Install new cable
4. Use the method in the video the replace fluid in the system

If i remove the upper cable, the fluid that is in the line, how do i prevent that from going everywhere?
& because i have dual brakes how would i reverse bleed them? Through both sides?
