You didn't specify how high you want to go, but I will assume it's high enough to warrant replacing cables. If that's the case, unless you buy used, you're going to spend $500 by the time you get done buying the bars, clutch cable, brake line, and any wiring extensions, and another extension or new assembly if your bike is tbw, or cables if it's a cable throttle. A "cheap" set of apes are going to be $200, and I definitely suggest not cheaping out on your apes. Wild1's are a great bar, I had them on my softail, and can be had new for $200-$250. Cables will run you every bit of that again. Or find used. I scored my 12" wild1's, stainless braided clutch cable, brake line, Milwaukee twin risers, and willie g grips for $275 shipped on eBay and they were immaculate. The deals are out there, just be patient. Or suck it up and spend $500.

As far as brand specific, I've personally run wild1's, Vindiktas, and LA choppers prime apes. Wild1's were very nice, vindiktas I didn't like, and la choppers seem good so far, not a lot of time with them yet, tho. BR customs that were mentioned here are ridiculously expensive. I looked at them for my SGS and the bars alone were $650.

I bought a BR engine guard 2 years ago. Extremely well built, high quality, everything was great, except the wait. I think it took 7 or 8 weeks after paying. If I wanted another BR product, I would probably wait, maybe, lol.

Agreed except the price on the Wild1 bars. They routinely sell for 189.00 shipped on eBay. I install them all the time. Great bars at a great price!
