Ok, I THINK I know what you are doing. You need a really small regular screw driver and a flash light. As you look down the wire into the connector, you will see a little plastic lever, use the screw driver to move that lever. That lever locks the wire into the connector. If you look at the other side of the connector, they are numbered. Make sure you write the color of the wire and the connector number down. That is a biggie!!

Good luck and keep us posted!! Just a heads up too, if you are going apes, its a good idea to change out the bar mount bushings at the same time. I went with 16" Carlini's and my bars moved all over the place with stock bushings. I put some urethane bushings in about a week later and they didn't budge. I wish I had known that when I did mine so I didn't have to take it all apart again a week later

That's gonna have to be a extremely small screwdriver. I didn't have one that small. After wrestling with the locks for quite a while I discovered if I straightened out a paper clip and sharpened the end of it like a sewing needle, I could stick it in the end of the lock arm and push the paper clip over which would release the wire. The trick here is to get the paper clip point very sharp.

I ended up using a micro screw driver that I use to tighten sunglasses hinges. It worked great.

Ok you need to pull up on the white insert till it clicks, using a pair of needle nose pliers, then use a paper clip or small screwdriver to unlock the pins. This pic with the insert removed shows the locking tab above each pin. There's a small half moon shape in the locking tab. That's where you slide the paper clip in and pull on the wire.

2010 Limited with some stuff!!

Very helpful. I realized not all my colored wires correspond with my colors on the connecters. (No big deal, all wires are the same thing)
