Default Cruise control question

I have a 2003 Electra Glide classic. It just has the little thumb wheel to lock throttle. Can the electronic cruise be added easily? I am also needing to do a handle bar swap too. Can the cruise be added when the handle bars are I stalled?

The best time to add cruise would be during the handle bar change. If it can be done easily or at all I don't know.

The parts for cruise control are all discontinued. You can either buy used parts off a similar year ultra, or check out harleycruisecontrol (dotcom) for their kit. The hardest part is replacing the right side switches with the ones that include the cruise switch. Its expensive but worth it in my opinion. I added it to my 01 classic and did it again on my 06 street glide. I went the ebay parts route. There is good info in the service manual on how to install, initialize and troubleshoot the cruise.

I added cruise control to my 2005 Classic. It is a little work, but I did it myself. We also added cruise to my wife's 2007 Street Glide. The kit to do it has been discontinued so I don't know how much luck you will find in getting the parts you need.

I found 1 kit by searching "Cruise Control 2003 Harley Davidson". Kit comes up as for 2006. Price is 186.00 and it will work on the '03. Couldn't get the link to post.

i have my limited that has the cruise control and i have a yamaha road star without one. i wouldn't be without one any more. i bought one of those wrist paddles (forgot what they're called) for the yami. works pretty good. not cruise control but helps out on the strain of the wrist.

I had it put on my 04 electra glide classic before we rode it to sturgis in 2010, best investment for the bike ever. I had a hard time finding a dealer that still had the kit but i understand they are still out there - good luck in your search
