se255
V&H power duels
SE type AC (from fuel moto)
PCV
otherwise stock motor
I am thinking I want to replace the cams (I was in the cam chest
and noticed some wear on the lobes).
I like the power curve of the se255s so would like something
similar
would like to keep the stock push rods and not do head work/springs
or change the pistons...
Is there something better out there that I can "drop in"..that will
give me power in the same areas as the se255..
I got stock Rushmore cams and lifters and pushrods for sale cheap $125 shipped. These are nearly identical to 255. 3314 miles on them. Something to think about.

At one time I was interested in this mod myself. I have SE255s now instead. How did you handle the tune?
I just installed a set of Woods TW0222's in my 96. I'd picked up set of used 222's here on forum looked brand new. Loaded a Fuel Moto map and fired it up late yesterday afternoon. All I can say is WOW it really woke this boy up from previous stage 1. I ride in 2500-4000rpm range and I am very pleased. Great low end-midrange torque and nice little cam tone accent at idle .
+1 on the Woods TW 222's, put them in my 2013 limited and the bike is a beast off the line to about 4500rpm for a full dress bike this thing now moves it's azz.
Great cam.

I have a power vision, but also have a copy of the stage 2 download from hd. The timing and VE tables are really really close. What do you have now for a tuner? I was in Charleston this past weekend, LOL

My first question is - is the bike not running correctly? What caused the lobes to wear? Are they worn off?I have run SE cams in the past and not had or heard of any issues quality wise. Reason i ask - if you have an issue that caused the lobes to wear on the SE cam and do not correct it- it will do the same thing to the new cam. If you like the 255 I would stick with it and fix the issue. If you are just wanting to change to a different grind - proceed. Just make sure you change the lifters. Twin Cams use roller lifters. There should'nt be that much wear if any...

Great observation and I would almost put money on it being the lifters causing the wear...Change both while you are in there and then you won't have to go in again...
