hey all - does anybody know if you can install a 2015 road glide headlight in an earlier model year (2011)? I know "anything is possible" but I am talking about a simple swap.
I am considering a daymaker and while doing research thought about a 2015 swap. I assume the headlight in a 2015 is better than the daymaker replacement. Let me know if this is not a correct assumption.
I'm pretty sure it's not a direct swap, the entire faring is different. I have the Daymakers in my RG and they are amazing. They are not the same technology as the stock LEDs in the 2015. The Daymakers are LED projection lights, they have precise lenses to aim the light. The 2015s are LED reflector lights, different technology but, not necessarily better.
You will be very pleased with the Daymakers, except for of course, the price.
Although The 2015 model year Road Glides new LED head lights are a nice improvement over the stock older Road Glide head lights. It would be A LOT of work to make them fit.
My best friend picked up a 2015 Road Glide, and WE both agree that the Daymakers on mine are Much brighter, wider spread, and light beam is further out.
Now this is Only regarding the Daymakers for the Road Glides, as the MoCo made changes to the other Daymakers for the single head lights for other models.
