First this isnt a question asking which is best or anything like that. I already have the mufflers ordered and I know what tuner I want. I am getting the Cobra 3 inch mufflers and the screamin eagle pro tuner. My question is can I put the mufflers on without the tuner? I always thought if you changed mufflers you did. The bike in question is a 2011 Electra Glide. The engine is all stock except for cats removed. I dont wanna put a download on it because I will eventually change the intake and cams.
How many answers do u want.. Some say if u change anything u need a tuner.. Some say if u only change 1 filter or exhaust u dnt have to.. I got all 3 and skipped the questions and uncertainty
I will end up putting both on. Right now funds won't allow a tuner but I already have mufflers. I was more curious about if I could put the mufflers on till I can get a tuner.
You've already gutted your headpipe, so now the best to do is to wait until you can afford the tuner.
May I ask why the SE Pro? I commend your choice of using a flash tuner, but that would be dead last on my list of recommendations....
If I've posted it once, I bet I've posted it 40 times...

Can you run without a tuner? Yes.
Will you blow your engine up running without a tuner? Probably not.
Can you expect to get 50,000 miles out of your engine without a tuner? Most likely.
Will it run correctly without a tuner? No.
Dealers and their parts and service departments are a business, in business to sell motorcycles, and motorcycle parts and accessories. They tell you that you can get away without a tuner, because a LOT of guys won't come off the jack for a tuner, and they're afraid they'll lose sales if they tell you to get a tuner.
Changing the air flow without changing the VE tables is not beneficial. These bikes run lean from the factory, adding a more free flowing exhaust makes them run more lean.
Do what you want, I won't criticize, just trying to offer things to think about.
...but there is a reason I won't buy a used bike as my primary ride...
