Default Security Flashing Light Question

I've the OEM keyfob alarm on my 04 Road King. It works just fine. But it does one thing I wonder about.

When I arm it, the light flashes in the speedometer. Well and good. But somewhere over the course of the next day or two, that light quits flashing. So there is no indication of the alarm being set any longer. The alarm still works, I regularly trip it. Just the light isn't on indicating it's there or on.

Is that normal? Like part of a power saving feature? I don't see anywhere in the instructions with the alarm that this "feature" of turning the flashing light off exists, or can be altered to leave the light flashing on the speedometer.

Unless they've made a change from your '04, the short answer is no. Light should blink constantly. It does on my '12 Ultra. Also on my buddy's Fat Boy.
