I do not miss chains and the oil they would sling, and yes I do favor my right knee (Ironhead). Never had a lick of trouble with my Evo after I got the carb sorted out. I think the best part of owning a Twin Cam is the lack of vibration.

Hey, man, I love my bike, and it's a 2000 with MM EFI and other problems (including that danged squeak I can't find). But, it's mine and it rides great to me. I've got a metric bike too that's a great bike, but my Classic is a one of a kind to me.

Like I said in another post, I hope these "newbies" quit complaining to their dealers about these "problems". Otherwise, we are all going to be riding Goldwings with Harley-Davidson stamped on the side. That would suck. So people, please be happy that you can even buy a large displacement v-twin air cooled motorcycle!! Take it as it must be built to satisfy the EPA. Then, "fix" it yourself and you will have the best of both worlds and a truly unique American icon.

I pretty much rode metric (Honda) since I was 12, and in 91 when I bought my last bike, a friend of mine bought a spinger softail. We traded bikes one day and I remember when I sat on it, felt the way it vibrated slightly just sitting there, and could see the huge grin on my face in the chrome housing of the headlight. Rolled on the throttle and thought now THIS is a bike! Only one more week till my 07 RG gets here!
