At the spot light switch the yellow wire is powered by the low beam, and will turn off when switched to high beam. Check the grey/black wire for power in the passing light housing with a test light. Also did the a connector come with the bulbs to connect to the back of the bulb, I believe there should be a short wire to connect the ground wire and power wire to the back of the light
This is on my list to test. Also to test the gray/black wire at the fairing, the plug for the aux lights.
Question for you did you install the spot light switch? I just installed the passing lamps on my 2013 Street Glide and had to add the spot switch, it installs easy and plugs right into the harness connector. I picked it up from Harley it was about $40
The ground from the Aux lights is to be spliced with the ground for the turn signals, the turn signal has 3 wires, the Aux lights add 2. You hook up the 4 wires as per instructions, 1,2,3,4 and 1,2,3 are turn signal 4 (grey/black) is Aux power, you now have a 5th wire , that's the Aux ground; then you cut the ground wire for the turn signal and splice the ground wires on the light side at 3, those go 2 into 1 on the bike side. Make sense?
Your wiring in the light is different than what my Daymaker Refflectors came with. You might have to extend that wire. Plus, the wiring requirements are different when you have chrome vs black. The write up I just gave you was for Black finish, but maybe it will help you pinpoint the problem.
There was nothing about the ground wire in the directions.
Yes only the gray w/black stripe is connected to ths black plug for the LED light.
If the one that is connected is power then the ground needs to be connected to the other prong on the light.
I doubt that this is the case but: If the lamp filament is internally grounded to the lamp case, then the light would have to be installed into the bucket for the circuit to complete.
I took the bulb out of my bike and this is how a standard light is connected ,if yours looks the same , you need this short adaptor.
Also do you have power with a test light to the grey/black wire with the key on,spot switch on ,and low beam selected. The black ground wire is connected to the body of the housing and bolted to the fork. Both need to be connected to the lamp.
