Default Wiring new apes

I am putting a 16" set of LA Choppers Twin Peaks on my 2001 Electra Glide this week. Following advice I found on here, I finished the wiring tonight. Instead of a kit, I used 24" lengths of different colored 18 guage wire. I staggered the cuts, and soldered and shrink sleeved each one. I used a 5' long small chain to pull the wires. I ran the chain through a few times to knock down any sharp edges inside.

Doing the extensions yourself is a good way to save a few bucks.. Where I got everything I was like I could have done that **** on my own.. I used them anyway.. You dnt even need different colored wires.. Splice somewhere in the middle and you can have the same color on with either side

I used weed eater string, already had it handy.. The chain idea is good.. Let weight and gravity do some of the work fishing for ya

This was the first time that I tried the chain, one of Iceman's previous posts gave me the idea. The first side that I did took maybe 2 minutes to figure it out. The second side took about 30 seconds to feed it through. Just shake the bars a bit as you feed it through and let gravity do the work.

Here are some early pics. I still have to get the left grip on, the camshaft and crankshaft sensors replaced, exhaust put back on, in tank fuel lines and filter replaced, tank put back on, battery replaced, front and rear brakes bled, and clutch adjusted before I can take it for a test ride. Sometimes my small projects get out of hand, this started out as a swingarm upgrade...

I'm going to ditch those mirrors. They looked good when they barely came above the fairing on the old bars, but they look ridiculous now.
