I posted last week about my RK burning oil. Burning alot of oil. Well, I took it into the dealer last Friday. They asked the usual questions, "do you see it leaking anywhere, do you notice smoke on start ups or when driving"? I said no leaks and I don't notice any smoke I just keep pouring oil into her. By the way, I bought it used with 2700 miles on it and is still under warranty.
Anyway got a call Saturday from the service tech and he was like WOW, I'm surprised your bike was still running. The bike had the wrong vavle stems installed and, as he put it, was actully trying to burn the oil as if it were gas. The heads were shot! Sooo I posed the question to the service tech that since everthing was going to be torn down how much would it cost me to have the 95 BB installed. Long story short, I am getting the 95 installed for the price of the kit plus $200.00, which saved me around $500.00-600.00 at my particular dealer. Just waiting to get the bikedone now. Hopefully by Wednesday.
