Front break problem, PLEASE help!
+1 for the Geezer he was spot on and I learned something. I bought a new take off wheel and tire for my Street Glide and put it on last week with new brakes and could not keep the brake lever firm. I bleed and bleed then bought a vacuum bleeder a neat tool but no luck. So last night I pulled the front wheel and the right side rotor was warped. I put the right rotor I was running on the wheel and presto problem fixed. I am 54 have ridden motorcycles my whole life and raced cars until a few years ago and have never encountered this problem but thanks Geezer for your assistance
Sounds like the problem I have. First time you pull in the brake lever, almost bottoms out, I just got so use to pumping it every time I need to brake and to let the cagers behind me know I'm braking so they can see it flashing. Might just get through this season and replace pads and rotors at the end of riding time. What do you guys do about the fluid when pushing the pistons back in, take cover off and wrap with rags??? Or just suck it out before compressing pistons?
