Has anyone ever had a P1019 code pop up? Temperature indicator and engine light came on not long after starting and I pulled this code. HD tech doesn't know for sure yet but it seems like the issue is with the liquid cooling system. Haven't found anything online about the code but the bike has coolant and the fact that it comes on so quickly after starting makes me think a sensor has gone bad? Anyone have experience with this issue? It's a 14 Ultra still under warranty so I'm taking it in on Wednesday but would like to know more about the possible causes. Thanks in advance!
This forum is awesome btw. I'm new to touring bikes and have been on this site non stop. Thanks!
P is usually related to ECM issues.
No P1019 code listed for my 2011 FLHRC, sorry.
Maybe another wet head will chime in with some help for you.
I will snoop around a little more...
1. Check radiators are clean & free of debris. Verify coolant level.
2. Cooling pump test. IGN ON, (do not start); open throttle fully, verify cooling pump is operating (should be able to feel the pump when running; if pump & both fans operate replace ECT(engine coolant temperature sensor).
3. Cooling pump voltage test - I'd let the dealer do the rest
4. Cooling pump ground test.
5. Open relay power test.
6. Relay power short to ground test.
Thanks for the input fellas. It's on the lift at HD at the moment and they are stumped. They've called HD to try and get some information about the issue and are waiting for some feedback. Who knows. I'm thinking it's a sensor or a ground because it comes on even before the bike has had a chance to warm up and it's topped off on coolant. Hopefully they can find a solution other than disconnecting the warning lights lol. Thanks again!
Hey AirborneMP108, I have a 2014 Ultra Limited and also just had my Eng. & Temp. lights come on. I see this post is a couple months old, but have you had your problem resolved ??
When I ran dtc check, I got same code - P1019 in the ECM which was followed by part number code 001219-01. I'll be calling the dealer today to see what that part is.
After reading post #4 - "14GuineaPig" I'm thinking maybe code is for engine coolant temperature sensor as he stated ?? Anybody concur ?

Reason: spelling !!!!
Hey Groovy V, sorry for the delayed response. I've been dealing with some medical issues and lost track of about everything else.lol. I still haven't figured out what's wrong with mine. It's at a second dealership at the moment (been there for 3 weeks) and they have no clue what's wrong with it. The first dealership told me "Just ride it". That sounds great but the fact that I have a 25k motorcycle that's a year old and the check engine and temperature lights come on any time its warm outside just doesn't do it. Now with less than a month left on the warranty I'm sure they won't be able to fix it but as soon as the warranty is gone I'm sure they'll be more than happy to tell me it needs a new engine. I love HD motorcycles but I'm so sick of dealing with HD dealerships!
Does VA have a lemon law for motorcycles? Frequently threatening a lemon law claim "builds a fire" under everyone involved. The "Steaming Eagles" have had their share of growing pains.

I just got my 2015 on E bay and once everything heated up, I got the same fault codes as you. What were your findings? Thx!
