My 07 Ultra Classic stock seat fit me nicely but was just tuff on my butt, I got the flat butt thing going on with no padding back there. W/O proper research I took my buddies advice and got a Mustang Wide Touring seat. It is fine while I am riding although it sits me higher and more forward than stock. The real problem is when I am stopping and starting alot, the seat is way too wide for me and I get inner leg fatigue plus sit too high to flat foot the ground. I am 5'10" with a 30 inch inseam. I am gonna have a new Mustang for sale for sure, but I need a real comfortable seat that fits me. HD shops don't have demos for my 07 much anymore but they suggested a Hammock seat. Also a Sundowner is on my radar screen. Any feedback on what would be my best choice here? I have a Corbin on my Fatboy and dont want to go with a Corbin on the Ultra
How many miles have you put on the Mustang? I have the same seat on my 03 and it seems to have settled a bit. I'm the same size as you and can flat foot no problem.
Do you have stock shocks? If you like the seat, maybe a shock upgrade would help. With proper sag you would be almost an inch lower and you'd get a better ride. Kill 2 birds with one stone.
Have to agree with getting your original seat re done, especially with gel. Would probably work out cheaper too. The other option is to take the Mustang Seat and have it Customized to your butt, might sound funny or weird, but again, might be cheaper than forking out for another seat that also might not be right one.
I've been through a few seats, and ended up with a Corbin solo made with softer foam.
It's not rock hard like a lot of Corbins are. It is quite a more forgiving.
Comfortable right out of the box, no break in required.
They will make you one with softer foam if you ask them.
