I have a 13 SG and about a year or so ago someone posted a Bluetooth setup that plugged into the straight jack on the stereo and had no cord.
The battery life of the unit was about 8 hours, I'm looking for that setup or one similar (without a cord).. Did a search and just can't find that thread.
Any of the Bluetooth units will work. If you're worried about the plug you just need to find a male-male jack. They sell them on ebay and amazon in straight and 90 degree versions. If you really don't want to use a wired plug that's fine, but there have been some reports on here of the aux ports failing pretty quick using that setup. The Bluetooth units aren't heavy, but it is more stress on the aux port than just a wire going to the Bluetooth in a pouch or stuck to the fairing with Velcro.
What we are all talking about is a bluetooth receiver that pairs with your phone. Then you play the songs on your phone and it is received by the little receiver into the radio.
There are some with short cords, or you could get a male to male 3.5mm cord. They sell one at best buy for about $30.00.
You can do a Amazon search for bluetooth receiver and find hundreds. Read the reveiws. They all work about the same, 6-8 hours per charge, and work within about 20-30 feet.
Things to keep in mind, most have a little mic for hands free, if you get a phone call and answer than the caller will hear all the outside noise.
They can stress your port but if you velcro it onto your fairing and run a short wire it will be ok.
I have one that was about $10.00 off Amazon made by Doosi. Works as advertised I just don't like it because I can only pair 1 device to it, I wanted one that I could pair my Garmin 660 and my phone.
Something to keep in mind there are different versions of Bluetooth, the older versions compress the music more and if you are particular you can tell the difference. The latest version of Bluetooth is V. 4 and compresses less, but also the battery doesn't last as long and they are usually more expensive.
They are cheap if you get them from Amazon worth trying to see if you like.
