Maybe if you didn't wear plastic pants, they wouldn't melt.

I would recommend keeping your dress pants at work or fold them up right and put them in your saddle bag.

When I dressed up for work, my problem was bug guts on my dress pants and white shirt. My tie slapping me in the face. And the top of my left wingtip scuffed from the shifter.
So I got a different job.

I have the Dragos dragula and wear slacks/dress shoes to work all the time. I find that keeping my right leg on the floorboard is the only way to ensure I dont melt my pants. Otherwise, I bought a very thin set of chaps or do as others have said, wear jeans to work and then change when I get there. Sometimes even in a parking garage if I have multiple meetings at various customers. LOL

Forgive me for asking this, but I'm from the UK. What are 'dress pants'? I've googled the term and they look like an ordinary pair of trousers. What does the 'dress' part mean? Are these something one wears to a very formal dinner? If so, how would they melt? Something is not right here.

cheap suits are made of polyester (plastic) or a polyester blend - nice suit pants are wool - cotton slacks may not work for the OP but also don't melt.
