Default Security System troubles

Hi Guys
I've got a 2002 EG Standard with the factory security system minus siren. Today I went to start the bike, and....nothing. Huh. Battery is only months old and holding 13 volts, and she's been parked for about two weeks. No KEY showing in speedo. No response to the ignition on off thing to disarm the system. Head/tail light, break light and spots are all I have. No blinkers. Im suspecting this TSSM module has failed, but I'm not sure. All fuses good, ground connection good. Plug to TSSM has been removed and reset. Nothing has worked I've seen on the web to overcome my trouble short of replacing the module. Codes? When I enter that mode, it says what appears to be "d01Clr'' all the way up to"d10Clr" then it says PPU and then shows 5 digits. No other symbols etc. New batteries in FOB. I'm stumped.
Thanks for any feedback.

Mike

Did you try to disarm it by double clicking the fob?

Security systems are useless and troublesome, Just disconnect system and lock your front forks!

Did you try to reset the TSSM. Found this on another forum:

For 2001 and up Harley Davidsons with TSSM Security Module, (key icon displays when key is turned to ignition position)

if your security light stays on for a prolonged period of time, if you have changed your battery or disconnected your battery when fitting components such as LED turns & if you have fitted LED turns without a load equalizer, you will need to reprogram your OEM Module.

text in red below step procedure is confirmation of action, always wait for confirmation before hitting the next step:

step # 1. move handle bar kill switch to off position

step # 2. turn your ignition key: on-off, on-off then on

step # 3. hit the left turn signal twice.
your turn signals and indicator light will flash 1 - 3 flashes

step # 4. hit the right turn signal once.
turn signals and indicator light will flash once.

step # 5. hit the right turn signal once.
turn and indicator signals will flash twice.

step # 6. hit right turn signal once.
turn and indicator signals will flash three times.

step # 7. hit left turn signal once.
turn and indicator signals flash to indicate error code
(see error code thread)

step # 8. to now clear codes, hit left turn signal and hold down for 6 seconds until confirmation.
turn and indicator signals flash twice.

step # 9. turn the ign switch to off

Thats it, TSSM is now reset and ready to roll.

Wow - that's really helpful at helping a chap out of trouble! Personally I've never had any problems with any security system on my bikes over the years.

I see Ron above has done a better job than me!

Any chance of entering your security code manually to start? Or recheck battery cables if clean and tight.

Thanks for the replies. However...the security KEY never even shows in the speedo. I've tried the FOB double click, the instructions above and the transport mode instructions etc. The start circuit is blocked like security is active, but there is no visual indication it's working at all. Whatta drag........................

Did you by chance unplug the security system antenna when changing the battery. I did that without knowing it and my FOB would not work. Only way I could start the bike was to override the system using the pin number. My bike is a 2013 so don't know if they are the same as you.
