Default Ultra screen

Goodmorning (well it is over here so...)!

I've a 1994 ultra classic with a chopped screen and I'm a healthy 6,4".

When I ride I get a lot of wind buffeting and noise from the screen but if I tilt my head forwards and downwards only a few inches it's eerily quiet...

So this got me thinking that a stock screen might greatly increase comfort even though it looks crap...

Can anyone confirm that the stock screen will make things a lot quieter before I splash out on one?

Cheers!

Hello old chap, from across the North Sea! Having ridden behind a wide variety of windshields since the '60s I can confirm what you have found - that the wind takes the shortest route around them. If you install a stock height one life will undoubtedly be better, although I wouldn't guarantee it remaining eerily quiet!

Looks are in the eye of the beholder - if a stock one works and gives you a more comfortable ride it will become beautiful! As for buying one you could try a dealer, although being an Evo you may find they are no longer available. Alternatively there are several windshield brands in the USA who make replacements, including more aerodynamic ones.

Look into Long Ride Shields, or similar product. I have had stock height shields, but I always had to look through them, which is tough in the rain. It did make the buffeting calm. The recurve windscreens give you the same or better comfort with a shorter, better looking, windscreen.

Mr.Brown! Ever helpfull!!

Will have a look chaps...I love my low blue/black screen but I want to gear this bike towards comfort so might revert to drastic measures such as fitting an old man's screen...lol

I'll also need to rotate the handlebars forward as it's in my lap right now wich is annoying and I also need to get more legroom but since I have the lower fairing I don't think I can fit extended floorboards...
