Any problems/issues with replacing the factory gear oil in '07 RKC with Redline SP Heavy at the500 mile mark? Any issues from HD when I bring it for 1K service? Will do Mobil 1 syn in crankcase then, and probably the formula+ in chaincase. Following the 1K, I'll do most of the wrenching myself.
Also, should I blend SP heavy with a lighter oil (medium) when the northeast turns colder later in the year?
No problems with SP Heavy for me. Shouldn't be. It's about the best trans lubricant there is.
No need to "cut" the SP Heavy with lighter lube. Cold doesn't make it thicken up. That's one of the good things about synthetic lubricants. They don't have the temperature sensitivity of dino oils.
ezlife, off the subject here, but you have a cute kid. I love when my daughters sit on my bike. Never to early to get them in the life.
I am about to do my 5k service. I want to do the redline sp in the trans and amsoil 20w50 in the primary and engine. What else do I need to do? I just got new cables, so I figure I wont need to adjust or lube them. I have a manual. I guessI should spend some time reading it, instead of sitting in on this forum. But, sad to say, this is usually the highlight of my day.
I've been using Redline Shockproof Transmission oil since my RK was new and have been very pleased with its performance. I also use Redline 20W50 synthetic in the engine.
She's hooked PapaTravis, and thank you. I just wish she was alittle older so I could take for a little longer ride than just up and down the street. Maybe when I get a tourpak on w/pass wraparound backrest I'd feel alittle safer. Thank god she has her mother's looks.
My little guy has been itchin for a 125, he's 9. I had one at 10, so he's got a shot. Just nowhere for them to ride anymore, sad.
Livin life ezzzz, always remembering what really important!
15 minutes? That would be enough for three visits for me. lol Nice tat ez. I have both my girls name on my back. They were born in the year of the Dragon (2000) and the year of the Rat (1996) I plan on doing a half sleeve on each arm for both of them. Just gotta find a cool Rat design. There is a guy at Miami Ink I have seen on T.V. thatI bet could do an awsome job at it. Chris Garver is his name. In all my travels, he has got to be the most talented artist I have come across. Now, I just gotta plan a trip to Miami. Maybe I could do Daytona one year and stop by in the same trip.
