Default Progressive 944 settings

All,
I wanted to start this thread to get some idea of settings people are using on their progressive 944 shocks as i cannot get mine right.

My data;
Solo - 185 lbs - standard srings - no turns
2 up - total 380 lbs - 4 turns

Thanks everyone for the help

'15 Limited Low, solo only so far...

235 lbs, STD springs, 5 turns. Still get some bottoming. Although I might be confusing bottoming for just adjusting too stiff. I need to put some sharpie marks on the piston rods & go for a bumpy ride.

2011 Electra Glide
Had mine set at 5 lines. 2 up 345 lbs total. Standard spring. Road like a dump truck.

Backed them off to 2 lines showing. Nice smooth ride. Get a little bottoming. Probably need to turn them up half a turn or maybe a full turn. I don't change them for solo riding. I have a Softail for that.

Progressive tech told me when I called, to set the preload so the shock measures 11.5" eye to eye when loaded. 3/4" of sag. There's another thread about it somewhere..... Oh that was you rowle!

So I did some more playing with settings today. I cranked them all the way up... like 8+ turns and the "bottoming" didn't really get any better. Turns out I was right before... I was confusing bottoming with stiffness & compression dampening. I backed them off to 2 turns, much much better. Tried 1 turn & did get some actual bottoming so went back to 2.

One thing about these shocks.... even cranked all the way up, at 235 pounds I still get some sag when sitting on the bike. I could bounce up & down & move the swingarm. With the factory 12" hand adjustables, nothing would make that swingarm move while sitting, at any setting.

Now I have to go treat the skinless patches on my hands from cranking those knurled adjusters up and down.

944 std spring

Solo- 170lbs 1 1/2 lines showing

2up- 290lbs I either leave it or for long runs and another turn

I've found the shocks to be very sensitive to minor preload adjustments, but coming from a dirt bike background I'm picky about suspension settings.

This solo setting is what I use to use then add a half turn when using the tourpack.

Thanks for the replies so far.
Looks like the data is forming a pattern.
When we get more data, i will try and form a chart for the 944 settings vs weight.

Thanks all.
Appreciated.

lol... this thread has already taken a confusing turn. Big differences in settings from users with more or less equal weights. Here's the thing... some are posting "turns", some are posting "rings". There are 2 turns to a ring. So, a setting of 4 turns IS a setting of 2 rings, not twice as stiff as it seems on the surface.
