I'm skeptical if the comp is actually bad this soon. Maybe the comp bolt needs to be retorqued, or primary chain loose ( tensioner sometimes doesn't ratchet up when needed ). Removal of outer primary can check those ( and chain alignment )

A noisy Comp is not life threatening in any way, sometimes embarrassing, yes, life threatening, no...

If the OP uses anything that is not certified HD approved it will absolutely void his warranty and it will out of pocket for him if he chooses to go this route.
No question about it.

I took it back to dealer and they confirmed that it was the comp but I shouldn't worry because it's under warranty, and just ride it and they'll replace it before then. After reading some post on here I'm a little concerned about this and my safety. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Are you running syn3 in the primary? If you are dump it and put some formula+ in. Worked for me.

Yeah that's worse case, however I have read a few older post with guys having there's lock up due to metal stopping the chain.

I'm running the synthetic Harley brand from dealer, not sure what that is?

Just replaced my compensator at 86,000 miles. Mine is an 07 but the new compensator is improved since my model year. The rattle you're hearing is likely a tensioner problem, or like someone else said, the compensator bolt needs re-torqueing.

I run HD 360 in the primary, but Syn 3 in engine and transmission.

Sounds like Syn3, I'd put some Formula+ in it and see if it helps.

mine made noise from new and got worse and worse with more miles. by the time it had four thousand miles on it , it was rattleing like crazy. junk from the start. i installed the baker attitude primary chain adjuster and it help, but when it got hot and at cruise speed it was still hammering itself to death.

The shitty compensator from Harley is a mixed bag. Some last and some die a very early death. Harley should be ashamed of it self for that crummy design. Its looking like Baker is on to the ticket with their new compensator.
