Default comp fail

Just traded my 09 sb in for a brand new 15 rg. After only 1500 miles I'm hearing a noise that sounds like rattling in the front part of my primary. A buddy of mine works at an indi bike shop and said it sounded like the comp. I took it back to dealer and they confirmed that it was the comp but I shouldn't worry because it's under warranty, and just ride it and they'll replace it before then. After reading some post on here I'm a little concerned about this and my safety. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah its kind of embarrassing, I mean I could understand after 10 or 20k,but it's brand new. We spend all that money on bikes and I get weird looks at stop lights and even had people who don't ride ask me if it's suppose to sound like that.

I called and set up an appointment with them, gonna give them the benefit of the doubt, but I'm definitely not happy that they let me ride out of there knowing that this is a major issue and someone's life could be at jeopardy. Next stop will be Pensacola dealer which I heat is much better.

Here's the fix. Warrantying the comp will only lead to the same problem in a few more miles. Lets replace a part that is known to fail with the same part and see how long it takes to fail again....

Yes thinking same thing, or don't ride the bike or when you ride don't too ride hard.
I think there's a backlog on these comp units or most likely will be.

For the record, I don't thing anyone is dying over a failed comp.
When failed they just make a lot of noise and sometimes lurching/vibration.

I would get it replaced regardless.
