Alright guys you may remember my topic about my bike being in the shop for warranty work.. The starter ring gear tore a tooth off and got in the primary and messed up a bunch of ****. It was in there for a few weeks waiting on parts and I got it back today. They replaced the clutch basket and stator and a few other things.. Pretty much the whole primary. I drove it to work this evening from the dealership and when I shut it off I hear the primary make a subtle knock sound as I hit the kill switch. Turns out it knocks every single time I shut it off. My buddy thought he heard it knock on start up but so far I've only heard it knock on shut down.
Can someone with some experience chime in and give me some advice. By the way the bike runs better than ever if that means anything. It sounds like it's coming from the front of the primary like towards the stator or compensator but I'm not certain.
So I guess my options are as follows.
1)Ride it and see what happens and if it breaks take it back to dealership.
2) take it back to dealership and let it sit a few more weeks and drive me nuts and hopefully get it fixed (a little sarcasm never hurt)
3) I have an appt at dealership in a week to fix a tuning issue for idling funky(it's done that since I got it tuned) and tell them in a week about the knock when I'm already there.
But most importantly I'm hoping someone with some mechanic skills that are better than mine can help diagnose the issue.
Thanks in advance. This is the most stressed I've been in a while. I LOVE my bike and ride it everyday. Any help would be appreciated. Ride safe brothers

most likely the compensator is making noise. either it's bad or they left something loose in there. i agree with above post ,try a different dealer, let them listen to it and get their opinion. you can always take it back to your dealer.
It's like getting a botched operation and letting the same Surgeon open you up again. If it didn't make the noise going in but now it does there's obviously something wrong. I'd take it to another local dealer and see if they can diagnose it and square it away.
Since the dealers are going to be closed the weekend plus Monday do you guys have an opinion on riding the bike? Would you?
It rides just as good as it ever has and it is under warranty is why I ask.
My opinion is ride it and if it breaks by Monday at least it's under warranty.
Thanks for your suggestions, this really sucks though
Dick! Lol
Good advice I'll write that down for future reference..
I have done farm equipment that way when told by the dealers that " oh well that just normal, they all do that". I run it until it breaks, then they know what to fix!
