Phoenix AZ to Seattle WA in two days with a 5yo. That worked out great on an EG.

LA to Portland or in one run with a 9yo didn’t work well on a heritage softail. He fell asleep and started to slide before I caught him.

Like others have said, know your kid and ride accordingly.

Dude that is seriously bitchin!

Started my daughter off when she was 4 and she's hooked. Never took her out of state but she's 8 now and a few hundred miles is just a fun day with dad for her.

My daughter has been riding for about 3 years now. She is 10 now. I don't think she could handle more than 2 hours, unless it was to Disneyland...

What about some types of road games? Something like bingo with sights you expect to see. Maybe give her a CB and talk to the truckers.

Side question, what kind of helmets are you using for kids? My daughter has a 3/4 helmet with face shield. But she is ready for a new one.

WOW,thats a Suzuki Titan 500 twin 2 stroker ,i'd est it's a 1970-1971,they werer a great running reliable bike for sure, not a super fact powerhouse but none the less a great running reliable inexpensive bike at the time.

I had a Suzuki X6-hustler 250 & then T-350 both twin cyl 2 strokes along with a yami 250- 2 stroke,then a 350honda twin,not the 4 cyl,but quickly moved up to much faster larger bikes after those bikes.

I worked on and rode a few titan 500's over the yrs along with also owning & riding (flying on!) kawi H1-500 & H2-750 tripple 2 strokes that were scary fast but didnt handle very well!

But the Kawi Z1-900 & KZ-1000 i had after that i jetted carbs on and installed K&N's along with a 4 into 1 kerker header too handled a bit better then the tripples and were faster yet being king of the street at the time too.

They were bullet proof reliable bikes ,could beat on them all day long with the guys and then put around with the girlfriend on the back on Sunday afternoons and it didnt care either way.

I would consistently get 50-50.5mpg putting around on Sunday afternoons with the girlfriend on the back of my kz1000,but not when riding with the boys coming out of 3rd gear at 100-105mph 9,000-9,500k rpm & going into 4th gear with 5th still to go too!/LOL!!

Lucky i made it thru owning 4 500 h1's & 1 750 h2 tripple 2 strokes and the z1-900 & kz1000 kawasaki's because they were very fast in a straight line and didnt handle great that saw at least 1 100+mph jaunt just about every time i rode any of those bikes.

BTW,I just sold the kawi KZ1000 i bought new for only $2,199 in 1977 on ebay 12/2014 after owning and caring for it 38+ yrs.

It was still in very good original cond with 29k garage kept miles on it still running well too , i put that money towards getting the 09 FLHTCU w-TC 96" i recently bought with only 9,700 original miles on it at the time.

It's a T500III. 1970.

Grap gave it to me when I was 15. I rode the crap out of it for 5 or 6 years, then parked it when I bought my first vtwin.

I had it until about 10 years ago, and kick myself in the *** now. I was moving, and didin't have anywhere to put it, a "friend" was looking for a resto project. I kept the title, but gave him the bike with the understanding when he was done, I could get it back.

Turned out to be bullshit. Last I talked to him was 5 years ago, and he said it was done. By then, I had plenty of garage space, and lived 800 miles away.

I was going back to Michigan for Christmas, so I bought a trailer, towed it up there and all of a sudden, couldn't get ahold of him. I have not heard a word since.

I'm about sick over it.

Took my 7 year old grandson to get flat tops with pop last week. Not that far though. He hurts his face every time he rides by smiling. He loves it.

My daughter, now 16, has been on several week long trips. We are leaving this Friday for another trip, wife rides her own bike, daughter with me. Key for us has been to make sure she keeps entertained. She's a little older but her phone, with music, texting etc. does the trick pretty well. Also important is a hotel with wifi. We try to keep the mileage reasonable, in the 200 to 300 miles per day range once we get to the area we are riding. Now that shes older we try to get to the hotel fairly early, leave her there while we do some more riding in the area, something you couldn't do worth an 11 year old. I suspect this next trip may be the last with her, she is driving now and less and less interested in spending time with us, seems to happen with all teenagers and I think it's a good thing that they grow up and become independent. Enjoy this time you have, as you know it flies. You will make some memories that will be with her for life. My son never liked riding with us. Finds the idea of riding most of the day stupid, so he has never gone with us and as others have said it is very much up to the individual kid. Be safe.

That was my answer to them, You have a kid then you can tell them what to do and not do. I bought her more riding gear and plan on taking her on many Sunday rides. As long as she asks to go she will go, I am not asking her or forcing it on her. I grew up riding around in my dads vette, standing in the passenger seat with the tops out.
We have just as high if a chance of wrecking a car.. not to mention i feel when the good guy upstairs pulls your ticket it doesn't matter what your doing you are going to go..... Just had a buddy in a really bad wreck, thought he was going to die, they got him fixed up for the most part, he was going to after care, somehow he choked on a piece of lunch meat and died.
