Default Thinking about a change

I know I'm going to catch a lot of heat from this thread. Maybe it's the near 100*. I love my 2012 SG and I've dumped so much money into it. But lately, I've been thinking about something lighter. I took a buddy's Wide Glide out and loved it. To be honest, it was a quick ride. I didn't do a lot of miles on it but it felt so good and easier to control.

A month ago, I rode the Snake in TN and it was a bear to control on a SG. Straight up, I don't have the cash for a 2nd bike and I'm not about to give up my SG. But, a man can have dreams, right?

You need a road glide.

Idk why u think u would catch hell for wanting another bike.. I know plenty of people with smaller bikes that love them.. If the sg is too much of a hassle to control, dnt risk your safety. As stated above get an rg.. Less weight to push around up front

Every Harley model has its plus's & minus's.If you can only afford one bike, pick the one that most suits your everyday needs.

Sounds you don't have enough experience on those types of roads. You have to know the bike's and the rider's (you) limitations.

Very good advice here. It took me 3 bikes to figure this out.

I hope you mean less weight on the handlebars to turn because the RG is no lightweight compared to a SG.

Kryinggame, are you sure you can't afford a second bike? I picked up a nice Evo Softail (love this bike) for less than $4500 and I've seen many nice sport bikes for less than $3000 on Craigslist.

Guys, I'm not suggesting that I can't handle my SG. I love my SG and I've put some good miles on it. But I've always had a V-Twin. I've never rode anything else. Heck, 15 years from now, I'm still gonna have my 2012 SG. That's my baby.
But, I don't enjoy twisty moutains, such as the Snake on such a top heavy bike like a SG, no matter what. Riding my buddies wide glide felt so good because it was so light and nimble. I would love something stripped down and basic. Nothing fancy with so many add-on's but just a bike. Sorry, if I wasn't really clear. I was just rambling.

If you aren't brand driven then there a lot of stripped down rockets out there that are very nimble and wont cost an arm and a leg. If you have Harley blood then your options are somewhat limited.
