Default Road King flare ?

Anyone using the Klock Werk bill board flare on their RK.
I'm 5' 8" and need to replace the windshield on my RK. Although i dont mind looking thru it ppl keep telling me I shouldnt. I dont want to find I'm getting wind abuse if I shorten the stock windshield so I was considering the billboard flare. Would the 16.5 be short enough? Is it really worth the money?

Call LRS. They will talk you through ordering the correct height. Don't know about the shield you are asking about but venture to say LRS is considerably cheaper and works great. I hate looking through a shield, glare mostly. You can thank me later. Also ask about a forum member discount.

Well, you actually dont have to do what people say you should do.

I look through mine, and am quite happy with the breeze and zero head buffeting. Did the shorter windshield for a little bit, hated the eyeball rattling head buffeting it gave me.

I went with the Klock Werks billboard flare when I replaced the shield on my old Road King and regretted it. I should have either not bought the flare, or just went back with the factory shield. The flare distorted to much while looking through it.

I prefer to look through the shield and I'm slightly over 6'. I have a 20" Harley replacement on my RK and like it so far. When I replace it I'll probably go with a Rifle just because the way they recurve it is more natural and no lip at the top.

I'm 5'10" and put a LRS 18" on my RK. With the Mustang solo seat I see about 3" - 4" over the top of the windshield. The lip does a really good job of deflecting the air. No problems at all.

Don't forget that Harley makes replacement plastics, in several sizes larger and smaller than the stock.

Something else to consider is the nature of the plastic you chose. They are not all the same. National Cycle has a good video on the differences:
