It will probably blow your motor. There are lots of threads documenting catastrophic engine failure due to changing oil types.

Redline or any other quality synthetic v twin oil will be more resistant to break down at the high temperatures air cooled motors operate at. The short answer, redline is better that HD non-synthetic oil. Now brace yourself for the abuse you'll get for starting an oil thread!

Welcome to the forums Jim.
Really depends on your choice. You're going to get the common this oil, that oil, , this oil is sh*t, that oil is cra8P...all does not matter.
It's your bike your choice in Oil. What oil you choose , someone else will dislike.
For my bikes:
I have used Syn3,then Amsoil in all three holes, then back to Syn3 because Amsoil made the top end sound like crap. After I put the Syn3 back in engine top end tap, tap, tap diminished A-lot (IMO)< and that's all that matters to me. I have stayed with Syn3 in the engine, formula+ in trans/prim. Works well for me. I change the fluids at every 5000 give or take a couple hundred mi. Or after a long road trip. There have been some on here that have said how good Redline oil is and others that dislike it... so go figure ,you know?
Your choice on the Dino oil, or Syn oil.
Then I'm sure you will come across what filter...
Factory HD one is rated down to 5 microns which is suppose to be ideal for these bikes. Don't forget to just buy new o-rings and primary gasket when you change the fluids. Some say you don't have to as well. It's cheap screw it I buy it anyway.
That's all I have to say about that.
Good luck man.
