Default Anyone installed Boom! Bagger Kit 76000051?

I decided to upgrade the audio and ordered the Boom! bagger kit 76000051. Has anyone done a DIY install of this? The instructions say dealer installation is recommended, but it doesn't say why. I've searched the forum and got a couple hits on on the part number, but nothing that answers the question.

It's possible that they say dealer install recommended so the radio can be "flashed". But I thought I was told a ways back, was that the flash told the radio whether you had a 4-speaker system or a 2-speaker system. And if I'm going from the original 4-speaker system to an upgraded 4-speaker system, will I really need a flash?

Other than that, I can't imagine the install being that difficult. Getting inside the fairing is easy enough. Lifting the tank can't be too hard. I've already installed the quick release for the tour pak, so getting under there is a piece of cake.

If your upgrade includes an amp with the speakers, you then need a dealer flash. Additionally, the flash has to be done prior to fireing up that radio. You can install it, but don't turn it on before it's flashed

I am, by no means, an audio expert ... but for $800.00 you can get a whole lot more bang for your buck ... Search the Audio Section and maybe touch base with "UltraNutz" or "GlarierPearl" they are the "resident guru's ... Good Luck on your project

This is as false as false can be for Pre-14 model Ultras which is what the OP has (2010 Ultra).
No need for a flash on that HU since it's already running 4 speakers.
With that being said, why in the world would one waste their hard earned money on Boom Crap? Much better options for far less money. Visit the Audio Forums and do a little reading on what folks are using and you'll see for yourself.

2010 Limited with some stuff

If you can return that boom kit, please do. That $800 system has maybe $150 worth of equipment. You can build a superior system for about $400.

Go ahead and cancel your order or send that Boom crap back and get with the Biketronics people. You'll be exceptionally glad that you did and you'll be extrememely pleased with the outcome.

You sir are correct. I assumed op had a 14 up bike. I didn't see what year bike he had in his post. That's what happens when I assume.

I thought about aftermarket, but had $550 Harley bucks (or whatever they're called) to blow from using my H-D VISA credit card.
